A Texas rodeo clown had two monkeys, and needed hats to finish
out their Western costumes. The clown saw my Best of Show award-winning
size 3 hat collection from the 1980 Utah State Fair. They were
featured in a 1980 Denver Western Wear show under the sponsorship
of Standard Saddle Tree Co. of Vernal, Utah. The hats shown are
size 2 monkey hats, which also look very nice on
dolls. A diagonal line, like an X in an oval, is the measurement for a hat's size. Size 3 used to be felt-hatters' samples and gift certificates for customers, to show the color and style of their orders. |
